B2: FMP - Initial Response To The Brief

My initial response to the brief is very positive as it allows us to have complete freedom over what we do, we can have complete creative control and showcase our full ability. The deadline is June 7th which sounds far away but in reality, it's not. I'm worried about the amount of work to be done and the lack of time, however I'm certain it will get completed.

I was very quickly able to generate an idea, 'Internalised Misogyny in Fan Culture'. I've decided I would like to produce a TV segment, article and a magazine layout. I landed on a TV segment because it pushes me out of my comfort zone, I've only been in front of the camera once out of the two videos on my portfolio so I would like to showcase my ability of being in front of the camera for the final project. I decided to do an article with a magazine layout because I produced one for my previous final project and thoroughly enjoyed it, I also feel this gives me an advantage having already used the software to create a magazine layout.

For my research I need to look deeper into the misogyny of fan culture and where it comes from, for this I'll be contacting two specialists; one in feminist studies and one in fan culture. This is crucial for my article. I'll also be conducting primary research via a google survey on my social media for followers to answer; I'll ask the question 'has being a fan ever made you emotional?' and I'll be asking a question along the lines of do people think it's acceptable to show emotion at a football match or a concert?

I'll be starting to look at using the TV studio for interviewing fan girls and boys, I'll be using Adobe Premier to edit the segment. I am familiar with both which allows me to be very efficient. I'll be using Adobe After Affects to create my magazine layout, which I am again familiar with. However, I have only used the software once so I will still need help from my tutors on refreshing my memory.
