My forms of primary research:

1.Questionnaire

I conducted two questionnaires via Google forms and shared them on Snapchat and Instagram.

  • What have you learned from this research?

  • How will it help you with this project?

I have learnt that 90.9% of people who answered my questionnaire are feminists and believe that cancel culture impacts women more, this will help to back up my argument in my article.

I have also learnt that 54.5% of people support the idea of cancel culture which will help me create a counter argument.

2.Contacting people

I contacted 12 potential guests, 1 organisation and 1 facebook group. Only two people got back to my emails and declined my offer.

  • What have you learned from this research?

  • How will it help you with this project?

I have learnt that it's best to contact as many people as possible because it's highly likely that not all of them will reply. In the end I recorded my podcast with my friend Georgia who is informed on feminism and cancel culture so was happy to help but in future projects I'll reach out to more people.

3. Verbal discussions

  • What have you learned from this research?

  • How will it help you with this project?

I had many verbal discussions with my peers, two in particular are Martyna Smoniewska and Georgia Straw. Georgia was a crucial part in my primary research as she recorded my podcast with me so helped with the basic structure of what it would look like and how it would flow. Martyna was also a lot of help regarding the talking points with in each segment.
