Hi I’m Caitlin and today I’ll be pitching to you a weekly tv segment and a weekly magazine spread along with it.
Slide Two:
I plan to create a weekly tv segment that will each week follow recent news from either TikTok, Nottingham Politics or Pop Culture. I plan to delve deep into the bigger questions, for example: the internet has recently chosen to start a rivalry between Selena Gomez and Hailey Beiber even when they’ve released statements that no drama has been happening between them, why is the internet so eager to put women against each other, is it internalised misogyny? what about the bunny boiler theory? In order to answer these questions I’ll be featuring guests who are experts in their field such as university lecturer’s.
From this I then plan to create a weekly magazine spread that will showcase all the information from that weeks tv segment in a speedy read for those who don’t have time to watch tv.
Slide Three:
As stated before I’ll be following news from TikTok, Nottingham Politics and Pop Culture.
The three questions I’ll be aiming to answer are as follows: Is hating a biological desperation? Is the death penalty humane? Why do we indulge in cancel culture?
Slide Four:
I’ll be attempting to get an industry professional to feature on each segment by coming into the studio or via video call.
Listed on the PowerPoint are several people I’ve contacted from politicians to a professor of behavioural neuroscience.
Slide Five:
As you can see from the screenshot of my weekly screen time I spend an alarming amount of time on social media which allows be to be fully immersed in drama, this means I have an in depth knowledge of TikTok, politics and pop culture. I know how to make something that could be deemed boring such as politics interesting to a younger audience which is what Neon Nottingham is made for.
Slide Six:
For the TV segments I’d like to come across as natural, effortless, charismatic and professional. The picture in the top left of ‘youtuber news’ is who I aim to take Inspiration from regarding the way I present myself and the news where as the image in the top right of a college made TV show is what I would like to take visual inspiration from.
For the Magazine spread I’d like it to be amusing, compelling, entertaining and a speedy read. The images on the PowerPoint grabbed my attention from their layout, i understand that the colour scheme may not be what Neon Nottingham is looking for so I’ll be aiming for more neutral tones.
Slide Seven:
What’s next? I need to finalise my guests, book the studio for the interviews with my guests but also to film my individual clips. I need to eventually edit my clips, write my magazine piece & create a rough layout of a magazine spread and get it approved.
