1.Import audio
The first step to editing the podcast was importing all audio files into Adobe Audition. This was done by having Martyna (my co-host of the podcast) export all the files to my email as they were saved onto her account in the studio. The volume had to be turned up as it was quite low, that is done by lifting the yellow line on mic one, two, three and four.

2.Cutting out the pauses
The next step was to cut out any awkward pauses. This was quite a lengthy process as there were many awkward pauses where we got nervous and fumbled our words. This process was done by listening to the whole podcast and setting markers then once finished, going back through and cutting out wherever I had placed a marker. I grouped the clips so I could get the same cut on each audio file making it smooth to listen to.

3.One person speaking at a time
I then proceeded to go back through the podcast and cut out any segments where an individual wasn't speaking, this is so the audio is crisp and clean. You're only able to hear the person speaking with no background noise from another mic such as heavy breathing or fumbling with a lanyard. This proved to be a strenuous part of editing and took the longest time as with four mics there was a lot to cut out, not to mention that some clips overlap with people speaking at the same time.

4.Importing the intro and outro
After that, it was time to import the intro and outro which we had filmed separately to the rest of the podcast. The intro contained who we were, what the episode contained and who our special guests were. The outro contained a 'thankyou for listening' message and where to find mine and Martyna's socials. Importing the intro and outro was a quick process, the only somewhat difficult bit was lining both of the audio files up as we took it in turns speaking. Once lined up and cut I grouped the clips so I was able to move the intro to the front efficiently, the outro was already at the back of the podcast but I grouped it anyway to assure it would stay in place if I happened to move it slightly.

5.import music
I imported a snippet of a jingle after the intro and before the outro to ease in to and out of the podcast. I found this online and downloaded the file, I then cut out the snippet I wanted and placed it where I liked it. I also made it fade in to the podcast and fade out of the podcast as you can see by the curved yellow line, this was to make it less intense.

6.Export to Spotify (Anchor)
Finally, it was time to export. Once I had the finished product and had listened through to check everything was as good as it could be I exported the file to anchor which is used to upload episodes to Spotify. My work is now available to anyone who can access Spotify, 'How Does A Feminist Survive Social Media?'.
