Working Title/Headline:
Consuming Cancel Culture Elevator Pitch: (This should be no more than three sentences)
Find yourself indulging in cancel culture? Come find out why as I attempt to explore cancel culture from the the psychological need to hate to the impact of being cancelled with supporting guest (insert guest name)
Team members and roles: (if applicable)
I will be conducting this project by myself: research, interviews, writing and editing.
Context: (Contextualise your topic. Why have you chosen this issue? Why does this story need to be told? Why are you a good person to tell it?)
I have chosen this topic because I am fully immersed in pop culture . I have a good knowledge of this world and feel I have an ability to share this news in an original way. Scope and Angle: (What is your angle on this story? What will you limit yourself to exploring?)
TikTok news: Is hating a biological desperation?
Celebrity news: Why do we indulge in cancel culture?
My vision is to have the podcast be roughly 40 minutes long and the magazine spread be small bundles of information from the podcast urging people to go on over and listen to the podcast if they're interested in what they're reading.
Inspiration: The Story:(What were your sources of inspiration for this story? What attracted you to it? Be specific and include links.)
My original idea was to film three TV segments. I got this idea through watching videos on YouTube and TikTok that present themselves in a format of a person at the front of the screen and the 'evidence' in the background with words being highlighted as they're read aloud. This was going to be the majority of the segments with the rest being filled with an interview from my industry professionals. This has now been altered to a podcast due to a lack of interest from people I had contacted, I have also decided to remove the politics aspect as i would not have enough time to touch on all three topics in a 40 minute podcast. My main focus is now pop culture as a whole, more specifically cancel culture. Inspiration: Style, Format and Presentation Which writers/documentaries/podcasts are you taking influence from? What specific aspects of them will you be inspired by? Why do you think this would work well for your article/documentary/podcast? Include links.
1.For my podcast I'll be taking inspiration from YoutuberNews, an account on Youtube and TikTok that delivers pop culture news. I want to take inspiration specifically from how he presents himself and delivers the news, in a fun charismatic way. I think this would work well for me as he has a large following and manages to captivate his audience.
2.For my article I'll be taking inspiration from Neon Nottingham. This is because my work is to be printed by Neon Nottingham and they present their work in a specific way.

Target Audience: Who is the target audience for your podcast? Be Specific! Why would they be interested in this subject?
Gen-Z is my target audience because that is the Neon Nottingham target audience. Pop culture is easy to sell to people that are my age as Gen-Z spends an abundance of time on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter which is filled with gossip and drama. Sources/Interviewees: Who are your proposed sources for this story? Why are they relevant and credible? How will you get in touch with them? I'm hoping to have a psychologist on my podcast to talk about cancel culture and why it seems to be rooted into our DNA to hate. If that fails I hope to get someone from the Nottingham Feminist group to talk about cancel culture from a feminist perspective.
